My August calendar is filling up with important events, so, I want to share these events with you!
August 14th, 10:00 am until noon, via Zoom, Civil Talk: A New Civic Engagement Platform
We will meet with Matt Cremins, a co-founder of a new online platform called Civil Talk, which allows nonprofit organizations to network nationwide as well as to ask for volunteers.
Volunteers can use the platform to find nonprofit organizations that engage on the issues that interest them the most. You can visit Civil Talk here: https://www.civiltalk.com/
Nonprofit organizations that attend this meeting will also have an opportunity to share their work and volunteer needs.

August 16th, 6:00 to 7:30 pm, via Zoom: Northern Nevada Marches Forward’s “What Women Want” Panel
The event will feature information on Ballot Questions One and Two from a panel of experts on these two questions.

Nevada National Organization for Women is organizing volunteers to work on Ballot Question One, which will add an Equal Rights Amendment to the Nevada Constitution. You can sign up for volunteer activities here: https://www.nevadanow.org/nevada-now-volunteer-meeting
August 27th, 9:00 to 10:30 am, via Zoom: Everything you need to know about electing judges in Nevada (AKA Why the heck do we elect judges?!)
Judicial candidates are welcome to attend to help with this discussion.

August 29th, 1:00 to 2:30 pm, via Facebook Live. The Advisory Committee on Participatory Democracy to the Secretary of State will meet via Facebook Live. Deputy Secretary of State for Elections Mark Wlaschin will provide an update on our just completed primary election and the information we need to ensure voters can easily participate in our upcoming general election.
