Vote Nevada Supporters,
We had a good meeting this morning on Ballot Question One, which will amend the state constitution to include this language:
Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by this State or any of its political subdivisions on account of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, ancestry or national origin.
My presentation reviews the history of the Equal Rights Movement and mistakes made in the past that we must avoid this time.
You can watch the video here: https://vote-nevada.news/ERA-Movement-Recording
If you’d like to attend the Nevada NOW meeting tomorrow, July 24th, at 4 pm, to hear about ERA & other volunteer efforts, RSVP here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMufumtqDktHNy-pvW1owAtq82wDQ3cU3n7
On the collaborative meeting with Civil Talk, we need to move the event from August 7th to August 14th due to a conflict with another event that day. So, the new date is August 14th and the time is 10 am to noon. If you have already RSVP’d, I will send out an updated link that reflects the new day. Here is the new RSVP link for August 14th: https://vote-nevada.news/Networking-With-Civil-Talk
At our event on August 14th, we will have time for nonprofit organizations to network and then we’ll hear from Matt Cremins from Civil Talk. Civil Talk is a platform that allows nonprofits to collaborate and find volunteers.
Thank you for being Nevadans with me,
Sondra
