League supporters:
As we near the beginning of a new year, we have some exciting news!
League of Women Voters of Nevada has been asked to join the host committee for the one-year anniversary celebration of the Women’s March. This year’s events will be massive voter registration festivals around the country on January 20th and 21st.
Nevada will be spotlighted as the future of diversity and democracy.
The Women’s March is a non-partisan, non-profit organization that focuses on women’s empowerment; and because this year’s focus is on voter registration and engagement, which align with League’s mission, we have agreed to participate.
The Reno event will be on January 20th and the Las Vegas event will be on January 21st.
We need lots of volunteers to help not only register voters at the events, but also spread the word about League’s bold new approach to advocacy and the benefits of membership, before and during the events on January 20th and 21st.
To grow our membership, we are kicking off a “Join for Six Months for $5” new member campaign. If you know anyone who believes in our mission, vision, and values, please encourage them to try League now with a 6 month membership.
Anyone eager to join as a new member immediately, can join through our PayPal accounts on our websites. Because we pay a fee through PayPal, we’re asking our new $5 members to use the Donate button and to contribute $6. This will complete the membership process under this campaign.
