And now for the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT! In November, Alaska elected its first indigenous member of Congress, Representative Mary Peltola. Congresswoman Peltola has graciously agreed to join Vote Nevada on Monday 1/30/2023 at 8:30 am via Zoom webinar to chat about her historic election.
Representative Peltola has spoken about how her indigenous culture fits perfectly with Alaska’s new rank-choice voting election process, so we will hear about how indigenous consensus politics can be a path toward a more positive political system.
You can read about Congresswoman Peltola’s Yupic cultural heritage here: https://www.knba.org/news/2023-01-05/cross-cultural-politics-rep-mary-peltola-and-the-art-of-yuuyaraqing

If you cannot attend, I will be recording the webinar and sending out the recording afterward.
Thank you for being Nevadans with me,
