Vote Nevada Supporters,

One correction: Today’s Women’s Empowerment Lunch and Learn starts at Noon, not 11 am.  Sorry for the confusion.  You can still RSVP here for today’s event as well as Thursday and Friday’s Lunch and Learns: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMsceurqTosG9IYnT2R7U86CTFuS5WQRVEY

One new meeting: Today, March 1, 2022, the CCSD School Board will meet at 4:30 p.m. to discuss, among other items, the issue of school violence.  You can attend in person at Edward A. Greer Education Center, Board Room 2832 East Flamingo Road, Las Vegas, NV 89121, or you can live stream the meeting through this page (click on Watch under the Video column) https://www.ccsd.net/trustees/meeting-agendas/2022

Here is the meeting agenda: https://www.ccsd.net/trustees/pdf/agendas/03-01-22-sbm-agenda-pdf

Updates: The Governor’s Budget Office will conduct its budget Kickoff on March 9th.  Stay tuned to this page for more information: https://budget.nv.gov/StateBudget/Upcoming/

The Legislative Commission met yesterday and approved 29 of the 31 regulations to implement the new voter registration and election laws.  You can watch the hearing recording here: https://www.leg.state.nv.us/Video/

And you can read a summary of which regulations passed and which did not here https://thenevadaindependent.com/article/lawmakers-split-on-regulations-enshrining-switch-to-mostly-mail-election

The laws that did not have associated regulations that passed still go into effect, but they do so without clear rules for implementation.

The Clark County Election Department sent its March 2022 newsletter with explanations of all the new voter registration and voting laws.  You can read it here: https://vote-nevada.news/Election-March22-Newsletter

Thank you for being Nevadans with me,

Sondra
