The League of Women Voters of Nevada Executive Committee has reviewed and voted to support SB103, which would enact an open primary for all races (except the presidency).
The League of Women Voters on principle supports efforts to make voter registration, and the ability to cast a free and fair ballot, more accessible. While the political parties do have a constitutional right of free association, all parties share in a responsibility to ensure our democracy serves the people and facilitates civic engagement.
Through the legislative process we hope legislators and the public examine SB103; and consider its ability to increase voter participation and improve overall election outcomes.
