Join the League of Women Voters of Las Vegas Valley for our November 21st meeting: Drought, Water, & Urban Planning.
We’ll be discussing the complicated issue of water in the west and how it may impact sustainability in southern Nevada.
Dear League Supporters:
Thanks very much to everyone who participated in our silent auction and roundtable meeting. Without the hard work of our members and board members we’d be lost, so I’d like to specifically thank them.
Thanks to Beverly Abderrahman, her daughter, and her granddaughter, who worked their magic creating the beautiful baskets and gift arrangements, and who provided us with the yummy home-cooked breakfast. Thanks also to Kathleen Bienenstein, Bonnie Swadling, Betty Pardo, and Ann Smith for working so hard to gather the items for bid. And thanks to Jan Biggerstaff for helping to manage the auction process.
Special thanks go out to our member Linda Miller who donated most of the fabulous items in our auction. Without her dedication and giving heart our League would be much poorer in spirit and funds.
Linda is also a dedicated supporter of the Mormon Fort, so I wanted to let you all know about two exciting events happening soon. The first is next weekend, Saturday Oct. 24th, to celebrate Nevada Day and Halloween.
The second event is the following weekend, Saturday Oct. 31st, and will feature Linda Miller.
For anyone who would like to participate in tomorrow’s meeting on adequately funding autism technicians, here is an article featuring League member Stephanie Hill and her amazing son J.C.:

If you would like to attend the meeting and provide comments, you can do so at the Grant Sawyer Building on Monday October 19, 2015 at 9:00am.
If you would like to watch the meeting on the computer, if you log into the Legislative website tomorrow there should be a view link under the time.

I will be working with our wonderful table experts over the next week or so to curate reliable sources on each topic and possibly create some short videos. As soon as I have all the information compiled, I will post it on our website and blog and will send out an email with links.
Thanks again for all your support,
Sondra Cosgrove
