Vote Nevada Update 3/19/2023

Vote Nevada Supporters,

We’ve made it to week 7 in the legislature and we have our first hard deadline tomorrow, March 20th.  Legislators’ bills must be submitted in a floor session to still be viable, with the caveat that leadership still has time to submit their bills until March 27th, and they can grant some exemptions.  The next big deadline is April 14, when bills must be passed by the first committees.

Reminder: You can track bills, committees, and calendars on NELIS here: https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELIS/REL/82nd2023

There was one hearing that was particularly important last week, it was the March 16th Assembly Education Committee meeting. The topic was the restorative justice bill passed in 2019.  I recommend watching the hearing, which you can do here.  Click on View to watch the recording. https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELIS/REL/82nd2023/Meeting/11871
