The League of Women Voters of Nevada is tracking the following bills the week of May 20, 2019.  If you are interested in how we select bills for tracking, please see the LWV US “Impact on Issues 2018-2020,” which details the League’s approved issues and positions.  https://www.lwv.org/impact-issues

We are a non-partisan organization that does not promote nor work directly with either political party or candidates, but we do advocate for issues that align with our mission.  Issues and positions are vetted, studied, and approved through a rigorous consensus process.  You can learn more about League here: https://www.lwv.org/

We are now two weeks away from the end of the legislative session, June 3rd.  The next deadlines are May 23rd and 24th.  All budget differences between the two houses must be resolved by May 23rd and May 24th is the deadline for Second House Passage.  Bills that do not receive a vote on the floor of the second legislative house by May 24th will be dead.

You can see which bills have been signed, which bills are sitting on the Governor’s desk, which bills are still alive, and which bills are dead here: https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/NELIS/REL/80th2019/Reports

This means that the main meetings this week will be the Senate and Assembly floor sessions.  Agenda for each floor session can be updated during the meetings, so it’s important to log in each morning and then to watch as agenda are posted and updated. https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/Calendar/A/
